I've produced a whole series of illustrations for installations at the 'Discover the Deep' gallery at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. These centre specifically around the scientific voyages of the Victorian vessel, HMS Challenger.

The first installation involved illustrating a range of sixteen different size and shaped specimen jars and containers. These illustrations are two dimensional visual representations of the type of jars the ship brought back containing samples of life forms dredged from the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Organized by the Royal Society in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, Challenger's crew was the first to sound the deepest part of the ocean, thereafter named 'The Challenger Deep'.

The illustrations were reversed out before being screen printed and cut to shape out of transparent perspex. Illustrated representations of the samples were added along with individual details on label areas. The perspex pieces can then be illuminated when visitors interact with specific controls in the installation.
Another installation encourages visitors to sift objects through a bucket of sand. These objects again are reproductions of items brought back by HMS Challenger in the mid 1800's. The guide illustrations showing what visitors should look out for were produced to match the period style of the time. The items depicted include a whale's ear bone and the beak of a squid.

Opened in October 2023, The Faith Museum forms part of The Aukland Project - a unique collection of heritage attractions, galleries, gardens and parkland in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
The Faith Museum explores the many varied ways in which faith has shaped lives and communities across Britain, inviting visitors to consider how people across history have encountered faith. I was invited by museum and exhibition designers Studio MB, to illustrate a series of artefacts and scenarios that illuminate a 6000 year faith timeline. My drawings span from the late Neolithic / early Bronze Age Dagenham idol, through early coin depictions of Roman deities to King Canute and the Pilgrim Fathers.

A series of portraits of women personifying roles in the history of America. The illustrations were produced for the ‘Saving Washington’ exhibition, at the New York Historical Society museum.

Produced as hand illustrated, traditional style line and wash drawings, these were then superimposed over digital settings which appeared on interactive touch screen panels.
