I produced a series of single colour illustrations demonstrating the differences between traditional fresh pasta shapes on behalf of Pasta Evangelists.

To illustrate the brands book of recipes, further series were produced demonstrating the characteristics of other Italian foodstuffs - including regional cheeses, meats and sea food, herbs, spices, nuts, garden market produce, drinks and treats.
Illustrated plates of food from a forthcoming Family Recipe Cookbook, including an all time favourite - Festive Sausage Rolls! Featured below are Pan Seared Scallops on a Bacon & Black Pudding Crumb with Pea Puree, a tasty little Chorizo & Asparagus brunch and the breakfast of champions - Greek yoghurt with fresh berries and nuts.

My illustrative process is a bit like cooking or making cocktails and I'm lucky to be able to combine all of my creative passions professionally. My work always begins with the structure - a strong black and white line inked drawing. Sometimes, depending on the brief, this is all that's required. Then I work on adding more flavour by producing the colour layer using either coloured pencils or water based paints. Finally I bring the two elements together in digital layers, often using the coloured layer to colour my inked drawing.

Concept packaging and supporting artwork for Nostrum Remedium: Victorian Patent Medicine’s, reimagined as a range of flavoured vodka infusions, prescribed for the treatment of various ailments.

The premise is based on the recipes being taken from the 1875, third edition of “AN ILLUMINATED PRACTICAL NOTEBOOK of the NOSTRUM REMEDIUM (Patent Medicines, Compounds & Formulae) of DR JOHANNES van der CHAARDVARK” (a quack), published by Frederick Bentley & Co., Shoe Lane, Fleet Street, London.
Illustrations were produced in the Victorian Style of Mrs.Beeton's Cookbook.
